Animal Welfare Foundation of Iowa holds a number of fundraising events and programs throughout the year, and we are always in need of volunteers to help make these events a success.

AWF 2012 Calendars Still Available!
We have a few AWF 2012 calendars left for purchase. If you’re not familiar with our annual calendar fundraiser, each month it features dogs or cats we’ve rescued over the years and a short story on them. It’s something we look forward to each year and helps us raise much needed funds to support the stray animals of Jones County that we save. If you’re interested in a calendar, they are $12 (shipping an additional $5). If you’re interested, please email Gretchen at glchamberlain@live.com. Please include how many you'd like and where you’d like them shipped to in the email.

Here is a list of AWF annual events to give you an idea of the volunteer opportunities. If you would like to get the ball rolling on volunteering for AWF, please fill out a volunteer questionnaire.

Spring Garage Sale in Anamosa (April/May)
Help needed to set up, pack up and help during the event

Community Days at Younkers (April and November)
AWF receives the entire $5 for each coupon booklet sold. Volunteers needed to sell coupon booklets

Monthly Bake Sales at Anamosa Wal-Mart (May through September)
Volunteers needed to bake, set up, work at the event and pack up

Full-color Wall Calendar featuring dogs and cats saved by AWF
Six Sponsors needed to donate $250 to underwrite printing costs and volunteers needed to sell calendars.

HOWLiday Bazaar (in December)
Volunteers needed to set up, work at the event and pack up afterward.

Santa & Pet Photos at PetSmart (one Saturday or Sunday in December)
Volunteers needed to be Santa, photographers and photographer assistants. All supplies provided by PetSmart.
