Animal Welfare Foundation of Iowa holds a number of fundraising events and programs throughout the year, and we are always in need of volunteers to help make these events a success.

Current Fundraisers

Annual Garage and Bake Sale - Saturday June 8, 2013
Our annual Garage and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday June 8th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Masonic Lodge in Anamosa (across from Wapsi park swimming pool). To donate or signup to work the Garage Sale, please contact Denise at kdenise0353@mchsi.com or (319) 462-4482. We will take quality household items, but please get approval for large and/or heavy items. Please note we will not accept clothing, TVs, weight equipment, or Christmas items. AWF Run to Rescue 5k Walk/Run - Saturday June 15, 2013
Join us for our first ever 5k Walk/Run! The event will be held in conjunction with the 178th Olin Jamboree in none other than Olin Iowa! Registration begins at 7:00 AM and the race begins at 8:00 AM at the trailhead of the Grant Wood Trail in Olin on Resident Street. If you’d rather register now instead of the day of the event or donate, you can go to https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=8528. If you’d rather go about it the old fashioned way, you can click here to print the form, fill it out, make out the check, and mail them via the US Mail to the person listed! Your generous participation and contributions will assist the Animal Welfare Foundation of Iowa in caring for homeless animals in Jones County and building an animal shelter in Monticello, Iowa. Participants are welcome to enter with or without a dog. If you will be bringing your dog, please also bring a copy of the rabies certificate to the event. Rada Cutlery
AWF has an exciting new fundraiser; Rada Cutlery. This Iowa based company has been in business since 1948, their knives come with a lifetime guarantee, and all of their products are made in the USA. Actually they are made right here in Waverly Iowa! In addition to knives, they have utensils, cookbooks, stoneware, candles, dips, cheese balls, pound cakes, sauces, soup mixes, and no-bake cheesecakes. 40% of the proceeds will go directly to AWF! Spring Garage Sale in Anamosa (April/May)
Help needed to set up, pack up and help during the event

Community Days at Younkers (April and November)
AWF receives the entire $5 for each coupon booklet sold. Volunteers needed to sell coupon booklets

Monthly Bake Sales at Anamosa Wal-Mart (May through September)
Volunteers needed to bake, set up, work at the event and pack up

Full-color Wall Calendar featuring dogs and cats saved by AWF
Six Sponsors needed to donate $250 to underwrite printing costs and volunteers needed to sell calendars.

HOWLiday Bazaar (in December)
Volunteers needed to set up, work at the event and pack up afterward.

Santa & Pet Photos at PetSmart (one Saturday or Sunday in December)
Volunteers needed to be Santa, photographers and photographer assistants. All supplies provided by PetSmart.
