WallyWally

Big, beautiful, black Wally…what is not to love? Wally was recently picked up in one of the small towns in Jones County where most of our stray dogs are picked up. He is one of the lucky ones because he stayed safe until help could find him. Although, Wally is lucky and safe, in order for him to stay that way, we must find him an adoptive or foster home to go to this week. Wally is approximately 4 years old and weighs 112 lbs. Wally is not over weight, he is just a big boy. We think Wally is perfect…just the right age, big and cuddly, beautiful and black...perfect for everyone's heart and home! It’s a sad, terrible fact that black dogs are the most euthanized dogs in America. But, we think every home should have a black dog and those that have them love them more than anything! Wally is happy, sweet, friendly, and the only thing we want is for a family to meet Wally and want to take him home. If you are interested in Wally, please contact Melissa at mlaalfs@netzero.com or (319) 415-1270.

This pet’s adoption fee is on a sliding scale of $150 to $225. You decide the amount that is right for you to give. The fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, treatment for a variety of intestinal parasites and vaccinations. We have an all-volunteer staff, which means your entire fee goes towards helping homeless animals. A home visit is part of our adoption process, so we do not adopt outside of a 50-mile radius of Cedar Rapids. To complete our online adoption application, please click here.

Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we cannot guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
