Norman
Sweet, Sweet Norman. This beautiful boy was left behind at a rental property in Jones County when his "family" moved away and left him behind. Norman was very lucky that someone noticed him and took action or this poor boy could have had a very rough and possible tragic end to his life. Norman is approximately 4 years old and weighs 64 lbs. We think Norman may have been living with another dog, but can't be sure of that, nor can we be sure of their interaction. If you have another dog we would like you to come meet Norman with your dog(s) to ensure everyone gets along. Same if you have children. We don't know how Norman would be with cats, and while each and every dog is different, Norman is a hunting breed so there is a good chance he wouldn't be a good match for cats. Someone with GSP knowledge and/or experience is required for Norman, as you should be familiar with their needs and desires. If you're interested in adopting, rescuing, or fostering Norman, please contact Melissa at mlaalfs@netzero.com or (319) 415-1270.
This pet’s adoption fee is on a sliding scale of $125 to $200. You decide the amount that is right for you to give. The fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, treatment for a variety of intestinal parasites and vaccinations. We have an all-volunteer staff, which means your entire fee goes towards helping homeless animals. A home visit is part of our adoption process, so we do not adopt outside of a 50-mile radius of Cedar Rapids. To complete our online adoption application, please click here.
Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we cannot guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
